Where Fiction and Reality Intertwine
Our
Story
After 20+ years as an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker, Leila Lak came across a book she knew had to become a film — and that discovery led her to create Anahita Studios. A London-based fiction film production company with a global focus, our mission is to tell stories seldom seen on screen and amplify voices rarely heard. Our films are character-led, often rooted in truth. We welcome co-production enquiries and are open to pitches from writers and directors who are turning fact into fiction.

Meet the Team

FOUNDER/PRODUCER
Leila Lak
Leila Lak is a British-Iranian, multi-award-winning producer who spent over 25 years working as a journalist and documentary filmmaker. She made films for many major broadcasters and streamers including HBO, Netflix, Channel 4 and the BBC. She covered stories across the globe and speaks English, French, Portuguese and Farsi fluently. Leila made the transition from non-fiction to fiction after completing a six-month producing course at the NFTS. Her journalism background gives her a unique ability to identify and fictionalise real stories with authenticity and authority. She is the founder of Anahita Studios — a company with a global focus — to bring those stories to the screen.
